Sr. Sales Tax Analyst

Position Summary

Balanced Body is seeking a Sr. Sales Tax Analyst to join our Accounting team. This position will report to the Finance Director and be responsible for all Sales Tax related matters.   

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Researching sales tax laws and applying them to the company's products and services to ensure taxes are properly collected and remitted in various jurisdictions
  • Prepare, review, and submit sales, use, gross receipts and similar transaction-based tax returns
  • Learn our in-house billing systems and serve as a liaison with several other departments within the company, including answering questions regarding customer invoices and tax-related billing questions
  • Primary point of contact for sales tax audits by providing data, answering questions, and escalating potential issues to management as appropriate.
  • Provide tax guidance to internal and external customers, and communicate with state and local taxing jurisdictions to resolve tax notices
  • Support and/or lead tax system maintenance, including jurisdictional setups, product taxability, and customer resale and exemption certificates
  • Assist with invoice and report review and analysis in relation to monthly reporting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products; experience with ERP and billing systems; sales tax software and tax research experience a plus
  • Self Starter with strong critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to research and interpret complex statutory language
  • Experience using sales and accounting software;
  • Strong organizational skills and time management;
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • A positive attitude and everyday commitment to constant change and growth.

Work Schedule:

Our office is open Monday to Friday. The office hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
