Trade Show Sales Manager

Do you enjoy planning trade shows? Are you highly organized with experience managing all aspects of trade show events from logistics through marketing, promotions and sales?  If this sounds like you, then we have a position for you!

The Trade Show Sales Manager is responsible for the planning, management, execution and measurement of our trade show program. Experience analyzing the event and promotion to ensure our presence is not only successful, but memorable along with strong communication, budgeting and problem-solving skills are necessary. 

This position will enhance Balanced Body's visibility and favorable company brand, with specific responsibility for trade show/event management across all market segments. The Trade Show Manager will work with Balanced Body management, sales, and education and marketing teams to develop and implement the trade show/event strategy.

This position is responsible for hands-on execution and management of all trade shows in which Balanced Body actively participates, including the US and internationally. Travel is 25-40% of the position, including weekends.

Area of Responsibility:

The responsibilities listed below are representative some of the duties required to satisfactorily perform each essential duty:

  • Develop strategy for event participation;
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with event organizers and/or venues;
  • Develop, oversee and effectively communicate trade show production schedules to staff and external collaborators;
  • Gather input as needed in order to meet internal and external deadlines for various needs: booth, conference classrooms, retail, etc.
  • Management of and hands-on participation with onsite setup, equipment relocations required during event, and load-out at completion;
  • Manage third-party show needs such as electrical, freight, telecommunications, temporary personnel and other costs for maximum efficiency and cost control;
  • Inspect returning items for damage and coordinate booth repairs/refreshes as needed;
  • Manage hotel accommodations for trade show staff;
  • Manage pre-show equipment reservations process;
  • Manage trade show lead generation;
  • Generate and analyze post-show reports and make recommendations for improved effectiveness/efficiency;
  • Assist with placing internal orders for all products to be shipped to an event, and with packing shipments and making shipping arrangements;
  • Manage event retail sales;
  • Hours may vary and will require travel plus evening and weekend work.

Qualifications

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to satisfactorily perform each essential duty:

  • 8+ years of experience with managing trade show events;
  • 4+ years of sales experience;
  • Physically able to assemble/lift/move equipment, cartons, booth furniture and displays up to 40 lbs;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Understanding of retail sales/merchandising;
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and foster collaboration with others including event vendors, labor organizations, trade associations and customer/prospect attendees;
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;
  • Proven success in managing multiple projects;
  • Creative approach to problem solving;
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
